Common member questions:
FAQ 1: Are my membership dues and gym fees being charged simply to pay-off the debts incurred but unpaid prior to December 31, 2011?
Answer 1: The membership dues and other fees collected during calendar year 2012 will first be used to pay annual required expenses such as the annual Recreation Fund assessment and insurance. A portion of all service fees paid by members (for example, gym fee, etc.) will be reserved for the specific operation of the related program. Thus for example, cash received will be held in reserve received for gym fees to pay for repairs, maintenance and upgrades to the Fitness Center.
FAQ 2: I paid a refundable deposit when I joined AERWA prior to December 31, 2011. Will I receive a refund of that deposit?
Answer 2: AERWA must first pay outstanding debts to vendors and/or repay the Recreation Fund for any funds it may loan AERWA to extinguish its prior debts to non-member vendors. After all other debts are paid, members can begin to receive refunds of their previously paid deposits.
FAQ 3: I paid a refundable deposit when I joined AERWA prior to December 31, 2011. Can I apply that refundable deposit to my membership fee due for the current year?
Answer 3: No, applying the refundable deposit to offset your membership renewal would in effect result in your receipt of the deposit with higher priority to non-member vendors. Non-member vendors have priority in debt repayment.
